Trading time on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has been extended by an hour effective from tomorrow (Thursday).
Trading at the bourses will remain open for four hours from 10:00am to 2:00pm in line with the banking hours during the government enforced extended lockdown (July 8 to July 14), officials said.
Trading time has been extended in line with banking hours, said an official of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
Banking hours have been extended by one hour during the ongoing extended strict lockdown.
According to a directive issued on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Bank said the banks will remain open for transactions from 10:00am to 2:30pm from July 8 to July 14.
Besides, banks will remain closed on Sunday (July 11) in addition to the weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday so the capital market is as stock trading is related to bank transactions, said the BSEC official.
Normally, the capital market sees four and a half hours trading from 10:00am to 2:30pm. The bourses reduced trading time for three from July 5 in line with the banking hours due to the government enforced strict lockdown.
