The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has revised its CSE30 and CSE Shariah indices on the basis of half-yearly performance of the listed companies.
Eight new companies were added to the CSE30 Index replacing as many companies that were dropped from the index.
And the CSE Shariah Index brought three new companies under its fold, dropping four companies.
The newly revised indices will take effect on December 18. The port city's bourse revised these two indices twice a year, according to a statement.
The new companies which have been added to CSE30 index are Envoy Textiles, Orion Pharma, Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh, Bata Shoe Company (BD), Eastern Housing, Unique Hotel & Resorts, Prime Bank and GSP Finance.
On the other hand, Advanced Chemical Industries, The City Bank, Confidence Cement, Lankabangla Finance, Mercantile Bank, One Bank, Saif Powertec and Shasha Denims were dropped from the list.
Currently, the CSE 30 index accounted for 29.19 per cent of free-float market capitalisation of all stocks listed of the CSE.
The list of companies under the new CSE30 Index include Al-Arafah Islami Bank, Aman Feed, Argon Denims, Bangladesh National Insurance Company, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills, Bata Shoe Company (BD), BSRM Steels, Delta Life Insurance Company, Doreen Power Generations and Systems, Eastern Bank, Eastern Housing, Envoy Textiles, Export Import Bank, GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh), Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh, IDLC Finance, Jamuna Oil Company, Jamuna Bank, Meghna Petroleum, MJL Bangladesh, Olympic Industries, Orion Pharma, Padma Oil Company, Prime Bank, Ratanpur Steel Re-rolling Mills, Square Pharmaceuticals, Summit Power, The ACME Laboratories, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company and Unique Hotel and Resorts.
Meanwhile, Esquire Knit Composite, Reckitt Benckiser and Shepherd Industries have been added to the CSE Shariah Index.
And the four companies it dropped are Alif Industries, Apex Tannery, C& A Textile and Tung Hai Knitting & Dyeing.
Presently, 126 listed companies, out of 328, are included in the CSE Shariah Index.
