DSE cools off after record high

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the Monday’s session with a marginal loss after the prime index of the main bourse—DSEX—crossed the 5,800-mark on Sunday.

The DSEX crossed the mark after nine months as investors showed their buying spree on sector-wise issues.

The key index of the DSE declined following the mixed performance of the major sectors today.

The turnover crossed Tk 11 billion mark following investors’ increased participation.

At the end of the session, the DSEX closed at 5836.23 points with a loss of 0.40 per cent or 23.98 points while the shariah based index DSES declined 0.24 per cent or 3.28 points to close at 1326.58 points.

The DS30 index lost 0.21 per cent or 4.43 points to close at 2025.99.

At the end of the session, the turnover stood at above Tk 11.46 billion on the premier bourse.

Olympic Industries topped the turnover chart with a value of Tk 395 million followed by Khulna Power Company, BBS Cables, Singer Bangladesh, and JMI Syringes & Medical Devices.
