The securities regulator will organise the 'World Investor Week 2018' during October 7-11 to create awareness among the general investors.
The week will be observed in accordance with the declaration of International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), a global cooperative of securities regulatory bodies.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith is expected to inaugurate the event in Dhaka.
During the week, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will arrange seminars, workshops and discussion meetings to be participated by general investors and stakeholders of the capital market.
Mohammad Saifur Rahman, an executive director of the BSEC, said the objective of the week is to create awareness among the general investors.
The BSEC observed the investors week last year in a broader scale and this year, it will be observed in a limited scale, he said.
He said the stakeholders including the stock exchanges, merchant banks and asset management companies are expected to provide necessary supports to observe the week successfully.
"The securities regulator is working on creating awareness among the investors. The programmes of the investors' week will help create the awareness," Rahman added.
