Trading will take place for only three sessions in the outgoing year as bourses will remain closed for five days due to Christmas Day, national elections, bank holiday and weekly holiday.

Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will take place today (Monday), Wednesday and Thursday, DSE officials said.

Trading and official activities at DSE and CSE will remain closed on December 25 (Tuesday) due to Christmas Day, the biggest religious festival of the Christian community.

Trading and official activities on the bourses will also remain closed on December 30 (Sunday) due to the national parliamentary elections.

Trading and official activities on the bourses will also remain closed on December 31 (Monday) due to bank holiday as transactions of all banks will remain closed and complete their financial calculations for 2018, the last day of the year.

On the other hand, December 28 and 29 are weekly holidays.
