Aramit Limited, a unit of Aramit Group, has approved 50 per cent final cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
The approval was made by the shareholders in the 50th annual general meeting of the company held virtually on Wednesday, according to a statement.
The meeting was presided over by Sm Alamgir Chowdhury, chairman and independent director of the company.
The meeting was attended by the directors of the company -- Khourshedul Alam, Jyotsna Bikash Chakma, Sudhangshu Kumar Ghosh and Md Shariqul Anam, and Independent Director And Chairman (Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the company) Mohammed Towhidul Anowar.
Syed Kamruzzaman, FCMA, company secretary, and Kanak Kanti Sen, FCMA, chief operating officer and also chief financial officer of the company, spoke in the meeting. A good number of shareholders also attended the meeting.
It was disclosed that the company earned a net profit Tk 61.31 million before income tax and a net profit of Tk 46.14 million after income tax for the year ended on June 30, 2021. The company contributed Tk 158.27 million to the national exchequer in the form of customs duty, income tax and value added tax during the year.
The chairman of the company replied to various queries of the shareholders. The shareholders expressed their satisfaction for consistent rate of payment of dividend to them by the company. Finally, the shareholders approved the 50 per cent cash dividend, annual financial statements along with the report of the auditors and the directors thereon, for the year.
