Young Tigers claim fifth spot

Bangladesh U-19 claimed the fifth spot in the Playoff match against England at ICC U19 Cricket World Cup on Sunday.

The young Tigers recorded a five-wicket victory over England U-19 team at Queenstown, New Zealand.

Batting first after winning the toss, the English side were all out for 216 in 47.2 overs.

England innings set for a big total during the 126-run stand between Liam Banks and Henry Brook in the second wicket.

Bangladeshi bowlers, however, fought back by picking up wickets in regular intervals.

Hasan Mahmud and Afif Hossain both shared three wickets each, says BSS.

In reply, Bangladesh suffered early batting jolt losing three wickets for 82 runs.

Then, two half-centuries from skipper Saif Hassan and Afif Hossain steered the young Tigers to a comfortable five-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare.

Afif scored the highest knock of 71 while Saif was dismissed after scoring 59.

Adam Finch bagged two wickets for 36.
