Bangladesh to chase 315

India posted a commanding score of 314 runs for 9 wickets in stipulated 50 overs against Bangladesh in the latter’s do or die match at Birmingham on Monday.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, Bangladesh let India set off to a flying start by some ordinary fielding and dropping a regulation catch of Rohit Sharma.

Eventually Rohit Sharma scored his second century in two days scoring 104 runs to put India to a firm position.

Other opener KL Rahul also chipped in with 77 runs.

Although Muftafiz sent dangerous Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandaya back to the pavilion in the same over, the rest of Indian batters capitalised on the foundation laid by the openers through useful contributions.

Mustafiz, the pick of Bangladesh bowlers, took 5 wickets for 59 runs.

Bangladesh will skit out of semi-final race if they lose this match irrespective of the outcome of their final match against Pakistan.
