Kumar Thapa, the women’s football team coach of Nepal, has announced his resignation as his team suffered a 3-1 defeat in the final match of the SAFF Women’s Championship against Bangladesh on Monday.
Describing the reason behind his resignation, Kumar Thapa said it would not be appropriate to occupy the position after failing to achieve a good result, according to Nepalese news outlets.
He sought an apology from the football fans of Nepal for the failure to fulfil their dreams despite giving their best efforts.
Kumar Thapa, who was appointed as the coach of the women’s football team of the country in 2016, expressed hope that a capable person should come to his post.
