The High Court on Tuesday issued a rule seeking explanation that why the function of the current Board of Directors committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will not be declared illegal.
The HC vacation bench comprising Justice S M Emdadul Hoque and Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty issued the rule following a writ petition seeking its directive to stop the activities of the Board of Directors of BCB and holding its AGM and EGM scheduled to be held on October 2, reports UNB.
Former BCB director Mobasher Hossain filed the writ with the High Court on Monday.
Seven people, including the secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, chairman of the National Sports Council (NSC) and the president of BCB, were made the respondents to reply to the rule, said KM Hafizul Alam, one of the lawyers of the petitioner.
The present Board of Directors of BCB was formed on October 10 in 2013, he said.
