Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal has won the toss and opted to bat first against Sri Lanka in the second One Day International of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today (Tuesday).
The Tigers are going into the series decider with the afterglow of a comprehensive victory.
A superb four-wicket haul by off spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz, splendid half-centuries by Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh secure a 33-run win over Sri Lanka in the first ODI on Sunday. Tamim Iqbal also picked up fifty in the match.
Seamer Mustafizur Rahman was also outstanding, who bagged three wickets to leave the visitors in shambles on 149 for seven on a tricky surface.
The Lankans on the other hand saw their batting line-up stuttering in the beginning of the opening game and looked out of sorts, both from the batting and bowling front.
The visitors will now be looking to put up a better performance this time as it’s a must-win affair for them. The hosts on the other hand will be eying to capitalise on their previous performance and seal the series.
