Bangladesh is chasing a total of 196 runs against the West Indies in the first ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
The Tigers’ attack managed to restrict the visitors and pick off the wickets at a steady rate, reports bdnews24.com.
Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza was the best of the Bangladeshi bowlers, taking 3-30 in his ten overs. Mustafizur Rahman also took three wickets, while giving away only 35 in his ten overs.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan and Rubel Hossain each picked up one wicket.
Few of the West Indies batsmen looked comfortable at the crease. Shai Hope scored a steady 43, while Roston Chase contributed 32 and Keemo Paul 36 to take the West Indies close to the 200-mark.
The West Indies had won the toss and chosen to bat first. This is the first encounter in a three-match ODI series.
