Bangladesh began the Rocket Tri-Nations Series with a comfortable eight-wicket win against Zimbabwe on Monday.
The hosts made quick work of the 171-run chase, with an unbeaten 83-run knock by Tamim Iqbal, in opening match of at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 37 before losing his wicket in a reviewed lbw decision. The two wickets were taken by off-spinner Sikandar Raza.
Bangladesh had won the toss and elected to field. The decision paid immediate returns as Shakib took two wickets in the opening over.
But the Zimbabwean batting order mounted a stubborn defence led by middle-order batsman Raza, who fetched a slow but steady 52 before being run out. He was supported by a PJ Moor, who put up a respectable 33.
According to bdnews24, Shakib picked up three wickets, while Mustafur Rahman and Rubel Hossain picked up two each.
