Table-toppers give fans a special Christmas treat

Top European football clubs have presented their fans a special treat marking this year’s Merry Christmas. If given a close look at the top tier Leagues on the European soil, competition for domestic glory appears to be anything but a forgone issue. Let’s have a glance at the table-toppers in their respective top four European Leagues.

Manchester City in EPL

English Premier League (EPL) table topper Manchester City, after thrashing Bournemouth in its latest outing just before the Christmas, are 13 points clear – thereby recording the largest ever margin in the English top flight history.

The way Pep Guardiola’s men are playing, they are en route to the domestic double, if not more, this season.

The Spaniard's side has clocked winning record 18 times already this season, with just one draw in 19 matches to open up what appears to be an impossible chase for others at the top of the table.

ManCity has collected 55 points from 19 matches and remain unbeaten in the league.

Barcelona in La Liga

With nine points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid, the Catalan side apparently (although not mathematically) looks to have won the Spanish title this season.

To add the cherry on top of their cake, they humiliated their fierce rivals Real Madrid at the latter’s home ground. What else the Barca fans could ask for more?

Barcelona has collected 45 points from 17 matches in La Liga and they are still unbeaten in all competitions across the board as the only top team in major European Leagues.

PSG in French League 1

The most seemingly unstoppable team in any European League remains Paris Saint Germain of League 1.

With Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe as their attacking trio and Veratti and Pastore pulling the strings from the midfield, most European teams will have to sweat blood to beat them this season.

They are already nine points ahead of second-placed domestic rival Monaco. With the League 1 already in their bag (as it seems), if PSG do not go all the way to win the quadruple it would be a heart-breaking.

Bayern Munich in German League

With fans favourite and serial winner Bayern Munich automatic choice for Bundes Liga this season, other rivals seem to have relinquished their chase for domestic glory.

The Munich side is 11 points clear of second-placed Schalke 04 and with James Rodriguez as their playmaker and Robert Lewandowski as their marksman, it is safe to conclude that they are heading in the right direction for the league title.
