England secure two wins in two games as they handed over Bangladesh their second loss in Super 12.

The Three Lions got over the line in a comprehensive fashion with 8 wickets in hand and 35 balls to spare.

While chasing 125, England got off to a good start scoring 37 runs in the first four overs. Nasum Ahmed came into the attack in the fifth over and got Bangladesh a much-needed breakthrough dismissing English wicket-keeper Jos Buttler (18 off 18).

At the end of the powerplay, England were in a commanding position at 50/1.

The wicket of Buttler had no impact on England’s scoring rate as they kept on motoring along even after the powerplay. None of the Bangladeshi bowlers seemed to have caused any trouble to either of the batters, Jason Roy and Dawid Malan, during the chase.

In the process, Roy reached his half-century, belting Nasum for a six over his head, from just 33 deliveries. However, shortly after reaching that milestone, Roy (61 off 38) got caught in the third man boundary as Shoriful Islam picked up his maiden T20 World Cup wicket.

The partnership between Dawid Malan (28* off 25) and Jonny Bairstow (8* off 4) scored the remaining runs to carry England to a thumping victory.

Earlier in the game, winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh had a terrible start losing 3 wickets for only 26 runs.

The Tigers then could not manage to make a comeback from that early setback. Wickets kept falling from both ends with most batters scoring at less than run a ball.

Nasum Ahmed struck two sixes and a four in the penultimate over to somehow drag Bangladesh over the 120-mark. Mushfiqur Rahim was the top scorer with his 29 runs off 30 deliveries.

For England, Tymal Mills was the pick of the bowlers with his spell of 3/27 in four overs. Moeen and Livingstone both chipped in with a couple of wickets each.

Jason Roy claimed the Player of the Match award for his scintillating knock of 61 runs at a strike rate of 160.
