Bangladesh cricket team Test and T20 sides captain Shakib Al Hasan has been placed in the Harsha Bhogle's best ODI side of year 2018, report agencies.
The prominent Indian commentator and analyst picked five Indians - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah in this team for Cricbuzz.
While the others were - England's Joe Root and Jos Buttler, Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera, Rashid Khan of Afghanistan and South Africa's Kagiso Rabada.
Harsha started with Indian duo Rohit and Dhawan for opening slots. He filled up top four with Kohli and Root.
Buttler was picked for wicket-keeping. He did mention that Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim were contenders for opening and wicket keeping positions respectively.
As he came down to the all-rounders, he said, "Now I need two all-rounders. Shakib Al Hasan is my no.1 all-rounder."
Harsha picked Thisara Perera as the second all-rounder.
He selected Rabada and Bumrah as seamers while wrist-spinners Rashid and Kuldeep made into the XI as specialist spinners.
Shakib scored 497 runs at an average of 38.23 in 15 ODIs this year. He hit five fifties which include a 97-run knock against West Indies. With the ball in hand, he grabbed 21 wickets at an economy rate of 4.48.
