Rajshahi Kings continue to keep their fingers crossed over the return of Mustafizur Rahman, who has missed all matches of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League owing to injury, reports Cricbuzz.
Kings, who are only above bottom-placed Chittagong Vikings, are confident to turn the tables around with hopes of Mustafizur returning for their next clash. The 22-year old has completed the rehabilitation programme and is only working towards getting his rhythm back. Kings will take on table-toppers Comilla Victorians in the opening game of the Chittagong leg on November 25.
"It was a relief to see him bowling without any pain but we cannot look too far because we are yet to observe him… we cannot help if there is any kind of swelling," Kings manager Sazzad Ahmad told the sports portal when asked about his chances to feature in the forthcoming game.
Earlier, Kings physio Bayzidul Islam told reporters that he is confident that the left-arm pace bowler had earned substantial amount of fitness. "We are observing Mustafiz since last few weeks after he returned from South Africa tour. We have completed his rehabilitation phase after he joined with the Rajshahi Kings team in the Dhaka phase of BPL," Islam further added. "He has bowled in four sessions in the last few days including today's practice. Today, he also took part in the running sessions including five overs [of] bowling in the nets. So far, Mustafizuz has [had] no complaints about the injury," Islam mentioned. "From a physio's point of view I am confident that he is fit. As Mustafizuz has no complaints physically, so we can say that he is fit. "Mustafizur joined the Kings squad on November 8 but hasn't participated in the tournament so far.
