Bangladesh opened the 2nd innings on day four and their batsmen are likely hell-bent to depart from crease as early as possible in the first session as they let the Aussies get five wickets for 43 in just 19.5 overs. The Tigers were in a trail of 72-run what was taken by Australia with their 1st innings collection in the 2nd Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Thursday.
Bangladesh, however, have taken a lead of 11 to lunch after skipper Mushfiqur and Sabbir Rahman mounted a stubborn rearguard late in the session. Mushfiqur (16 off 46; 1x4*) and Sabbir (20 0ff 43; 2x4*) were on batting in the sixth stand when Bangladesh collected 83/5 in 34 overs.
Soumay Sarkar (9 off 16b; 2x4), Tamim Iqbal (12 off 38; 2x4), Imrul Kayes (15 off 35b; 3x4), Shakib Al Hasan (2 off 8b) and Nasir Hossain (5 off 18b; 1x4) dismally departed from the crease in gradual interval respectively, reports UNB.
Nathan Lyon who captured seven wickets in the Bangladesh 1st innings, captured three wickets for 15 runs in 10 overs while Patrick Cummins and Steve O'Keefe took one wicket each for 13 and 19 runs in 5 and 7 overs.
Earlier, Australia resumed the 1st innings on day four with an overnight score of 377 for 9 in 118 overs and failed to add any more runs on the day as Mustafizur Rahman sent overnight batsman Nathan Lyon back for duck. Lyon was caught by Imrul Kayes.
Aussies faced just 11 balls in the day's first session to finish their first innings with their overnight lead of 72 runs. Steve O'Keefe was unbeaten on 8 runs.
