Bangladesh lost their two left-handed top order batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes before the lunch against visiting Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh's stand-in skipper Mahmudullah won the toss and decided to bat first in the 1st Test of the two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong

The Tigers were on 120/2 * in 27.4 overs in the 1st session when Mominul Haque (26*off 39b; 3x4) at the crease as Imrul Kayes (40 off 75b; 4x4) was trapped lbw by Lakshan Sandakan.

Bangladesh's valiant opener Tamim Iqbal hurried to hit a fifty of 52 off 53 to exit from the innings, keeping his side on 104/1 in 21st over.

Tamim hit six boundaries and one six for his 25th Test half century before being bowled out by Lankan spin all-rounder Dilruwan Perera on 72/1 in 15.5 overs.
