Jupp Heynckes: Bayern Munchen's saviour

Jupp Heynckes made a strong and impactful come back to the Bundesliga, as he helped Bayern Munchen overcome their disappointing start to this season. He returned to the Allianz Arena with a 5-0 victory against Freiburg.

The mighty German club made a poor start to the season under Carlo Ancelotti. The club management and Ancelotti faced immense pressure from the fans following a series of poor performances and had to take the stern decision of changing the manager.

While there were many speculations regarding Ancelotti’s replacement, Heynckes was leading the race all the way. The 72-year-old did not disappoint. Ever since Heynckes has taken over the managerial duty, Bayern Munchen has been unbeaten in all of their matches. It is as if the missing enthusiasm has come back. There seems to be a positive vibe and exhilaration among the players. This favorable changes had translated in the pitch as they outdone all their opponents in all their recent matches.

They played arch-rivals, Borussia Dortmund, lately and defeated them with ease. Bayern Munchen’s positive results have not only been the Bundesliga but also in the UEFA Champions League and DFB Pokal. Currently, Bayern Munchen is sitting at the top of the table in Bundesliga, leading the second-placed RasenBallsport Leipzig by 4 points.

Heynckes left Bayern Munchen in 2013, following a successful third spell at the club. He won all the four trophies during the 2012-13 season, including the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
