India defeat Bangladesh by 227 runs in last ODI

India defeated Bangladesh by 227 runs in third and last one-day international (ODI) of three-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first considering dew factor at night. The hosts conceded 400-plus total for the first time in their cricket history when India racked up 409-8 in the match, riding on a marauding double century of opener Ishan Kishan, according to BSS.

In reply, Bangladesh lost all wickets in 34 overs and managed to score 182 runs.

Bangladesh cricketers were eying to sweep India 3-0, following their one-wicket and 5-run victory in the first two ODIs, Kishan broke a number of records to put India in front of avoiding the ignominious whitewash.

He hit his double century off just 126 balls, which is the fastest in ODI, eclipsing Chris Gayle's 138 ball-double century against Zimbabwe in 2015 World Cup.

Bangladesh bowlers became disarray in the face of such a brutal attack from Kishan who was playing his first game against the Tigers.

He and his teammate Virat Kohli put 290-run partnership, the highest against Bangladesh for any wicket to pave the platform of 400-plus total.
