Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Friday announced an 18-member team for the upcoming 10th Men’s Hero Asia Cup Hockey tournament to be held in Bangladesh in October.
Bangladesh is going to host the tournament peacefully, after a 32-year gap, at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium where eight Asian nations, split in two pools, will take part from October 11 to October 22, reports UNB.
Bangladesh have been slotted in Pool A with Japan, India and Pakistan while Pool B comprises China, Korea, Malaysia and Oman.
Bangladesh 18-man squad: Russel Mahmud Jimmy (captain), Pushkor Khisa Mimu (vice-captain), Asim Gope, Abu Sayed Nippon, Ashraful Islam, Khorshadur Rahman, Farhad Ahmed Shitul, Rezaul Karim Babu, Imrul Hasan Pintu, Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Rumman Sarkar, Naim Uddin, Hasan Jubair Niloy, Sarower Hossain, Kamruzzaman Rana, Milon Hossain, Mainul Islam Kawshik and Arshad Hossain.
Stand by 4-players: Biplob Kujur, Mehrab Hossain, Sohanur Rahman Sabuj and Deen Islam Imon.
