The High Court Monday fixed Tuesday for delivering its order on a writ petition seeking its directive to stop the activities of the board of directors of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and holding its AGM and EGM scheduled to be held on October 2 .
The HC vacation bench comprising Justice S.M. Emdadul Hoque and Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty fixed the date, reports UNB.
Attorney general Mahbubey Alam moved for the National Sports Council (NSC) while AJ Mohammad Ali and Barrister Mahbub Shafique for the petitioner.
Earlier on Sunday, former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Mobasher Hossain filed the writ petition.
Barrister Mahbub Shafique who filed the petition on behalf of Mobasher Hossain said the present Board of Directors of BCB was formed on October 10 in 2013. In the petition, they sought a directive to restrain the Board of Directors of BCB from holding its AGM and EGM.
In his petition Mobasher sought issuance of a rule seeking explanation as to why the BCB board would not be asked to refrain from its activities and holding AGM, EGM.
Seven people, including the secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, chairman of the National Sports Council (NSC) and the BCB President were made the respondents to the rule.
