Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has refused to play in the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Teams Cup scheduled to be held in Pakistan.

Before the BCB, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) too had objected to let Pakistan host Asia Emerging Teams Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) has been suffering a huge blow as its efforts to bring international level cricket back in the country on a regular basis are seen little progress.

The BCCI had also objected to Pakistan being awarded the hosting of the tournament, given the political tension between the two nations.

“On 29th October, it was decided that Pakistan will host the tournament in the ACC meeting. But none of the members from Bangladesh and India were present,” said a member from the PCB as quoted by bd crictime.

“We want to host the tournament at any cost. We will try our best to host the Asian Emerging Nations Cup,” the member added.

The six-nation tournament, which is expected to held in April next year, however, has been put on hold after the BCCI objected to giving hosting rights to Pakistan.

The sources, as per reported in the Times of India, had suggested that the Indian board is not happy with the decision and has communicated the same at the recently-held ACC meeting in Dubai, reports India-based news channel TIMES NOW.

Cricketers from across the globe agreed to visit Pakistan after the government promised presidential-level security for the week-long tour by the World XI side, which was a 15-man squad comprising players from all top Test-playing countries.
