Table topper Bashundhara Kings maintained their unbeaten record in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football punishing traditional Dhaka Mohammedan SC by a huge 4-1 goal margin at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on Sunday, reports UNB.

With the feat, star-studded Bashudhara Kings further consolidated their position in the 13-team league securing 28 points from 10 matches with nine wins and a draw while old horse Mohammedan SC, now under relegation threat with five points from 10 matches despite making a fight under newly appointed Aussie coach Sean Brendan Lane.

Brazilian booter Marcos Vinicius netted twice while Kyrgyzstan player Baktyiar Duishobekov and local player Motin Mia scored one goal each for Bashindhara Kings, which dominated the first half by 3-1 goals.

The Kings dominated the game creating strong pressure on the traditional black and white team throughout the 90 minutes.

But, Mohammedan were found rejuvenated under new coach Sean Brendan Lane and fought bravely with their mighty opponents. Despite their some good efforts, the black and white team failed to score after scoring the only goal in the 21st minute by Landing Darboe.

After the half time, Bashundhara Kings also continued their domination while Mohammedan SC tried hard to resist their giant opponents. But, unfortunately Ameli and Co were hammered again by their giant opponents.

Kings took the lead in the 19th minute when their Brazil recruit cum mid-fielder Marcos Vinicius Da Costa found the Mohammedan net, utilising a pass of Mohammad Ibrahim (1-0).

But, the Kings' cheers were very short lived as Mohammedan's Gambia recruit medio Landing Darboe made the equaliser in the very next minute (21st minute) by a straight long-range shot from the mid field (1-1).

However, Bashundhara Kings continued their attacks keeping pressure on the white-black outfit that finally led them to a successful recovery. Mohammad Motin Mia netted the 2nd goal for the Kings in the 37th minute (2-1).

Just before the half time (44th minute), Marcos Vinicius Da Costa netted his 2nd and the 3rd goal for the Kings by his 2nd attempt after Motin Mia spoiled the first chance unfortunately (3-1) to dominate the first half comfortably by 3-1 goals.

Kyrgyzstan recruit Baktyiar Duishobekov sealed the fate of the match scoring the 4th goal for the Kings in the 83rd minute by a nice header (4-1).

After the match, Mohammedan's newly appointed coach Sean Brendon Lane said he was not frustrated for the defeat and he just tried to understand the whole situation. "I am not frustrated. I just tried to understand the present situation. We have missed some chances. I think the result could have been different could we can use those," he said.
