Barcelona have been in a state of turmoil for the last couple of seasons. Disastrous performances in top competitions, along with the departure of Lionel Messi and the financial debacle of the club that followed, made the fans quite hopeless about the team's state of affairs in the future.
After the arrival of club legend Xavi as a manager last season, the team is in a rebuilding process and to be more specific, this season, Barcelona seem to have taken their attacking prowess to a new level.
With the signing of Raphinha, one of the most promising wingers of the future generation, along with Robert Lewandowski, arguably the best number nine of the last decade, Barcelona bolstered their attack and took it to an unprecedented level.
They also have the likes of Pierre Aubameyang, Memphis Depay, and the exciting Ansu Fati in their ranks. It can be easily said that it would be a daunting task for Xavi to select the attacking trio from a forward line this star-studded.
The current Barcelona attack is reminiscent of some of the golden times of the team. For example, Cruyff's dream team and, to some extent, the legendary MSN trio.
Although it would be a bit of a stretch to compare the forward line of a team who have still not played together with some of the greatest forward combinations of all time, the quality that the current Barcelona attack has, it would not surprise football lovers if the forwards go on to create a new era.
From what it seems at the moment, Xavi is more likely to start with Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Dembele, with Aubameyang, Braithwaite, and Depay being the players constantly rotating positions with the starting three.
The players have every attribute to play the kind of football that is normally the benchmark for FC Barcelona. All of them are good with the ball in tight spaces, dexterous and possess more than decent technical abilities.
Barcelona's defence is still one of the major disadvantages of the team. But the team has massively enhanced their quality when it comes to attacking, and from the history of FC Barcelona, we can see that a good attack has often put the team on top of the world.
