Bangladesh women's team face Pakistan tonight in the Women's World Cup

Two teams who never won a game in the World Cup will face each other at the Seddon Park of Hamilton, New Zealand, tonight in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022.

Bangladesh and Pakistan find themselves in a position of a lot of similarities.

Both of them played 2 and lost both in this ongoing World Cup. So, both of them will be desperate to win this game, because this is their best bet to win a game in the World Cup.

As for Pakistan, they played 17 games in the Women’s World Cup and lost each one of them. So winning this game will mean the end of the long drought for them.

On the other hand, Bangladesh will dream to bring back either Edinburgh or Northampton in Hamilton tonight, two events that revolutionised Bangladesh cricket forever.

When Bangladesh Men's team played their first-ever World Cup in 1999, they had two miserable outings against New Zealand and Windies.

But in the 3rd encounter against Scotland, they found their glorious moment emerging victorious.

Then the first big win, a win which has gone down as one of the biggest upsets of World Cup history, came against Pakistan. The soon to be runners-up of the tournament were stunned by the Tigers.

Two decades later, another ‘first World Cup’ for Bangladesh is here, and history is once again lurking around.

Another 3rd game of the World Cup and another game against Pakistan. Why shouldn’t the Tigresses find similarities and fancy their opportunities? Why won't Nigar Sultana Joty would want to be Akram Khan?

The Tigresses will certainly love to rewind the 23 years old memories. They will give their everything to bring back Northampton in Hamilton. Or at least Edinburgh, if that’s the case.

Both the teams will lock their horns tonight to achieve what had not been done before in their history. Both have nothing to lose, but something to gain.

The match will start at 4:00 am Bangladesh Standard Time.
