Afghanistan posted a big score of 167 for 8 in stipulated 20 overs in the first T20 internationals against Bangladesh at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand in India on Sunday.
Earlier, being sent into bat, Afghanistan got off to a fiery start posting 62 runs off eight overs.
However, the Tigers dented Afghanistan’s run flow picking up wickets at regular intervals.
But after the fall of Nabi for 91/4, runs began to flow owing to wayward bowling of the Bangladeshi bowlers and swashbuckling shots by the Afghans.
Eventually they posted the defendable score 167 runs.
Shahzad top scored with 40 (36 balls) while Shenwari 36 (18 balls).
Shafiqullah’s cameo of 24 runs off 8 deliveries also helped the Afghans post the score.
Mahmudullah took 2 for 1 from his 1 over while Abul Hasan took 2 for 40 from 3 overs.
