10 Syrian migrants were killed and 9 others injured when the minibus smuggling them illegally from Syria to Turkey, hit a truck on the Turkish side of the border, according to state-run Anadolu Agency.
The deadly head-on collision occurred in southeastern Hatay province in Sunday afternoon after the driver did not follow stop order and try to evade from gendarmerie checkpoint, not far from the Syrian frontier.
Six children were among the dead, the authorities said.
An investigation has been initiated into the accident, reports Xinhua news agency.
Turkey hosts about 3.3 million Syrian refugees by November, according to the Foreign Ministry.
