Six people were killed and 54 others injured when a tour bus overturned on a slippery road on Thai capital Bangkok's northern outskirts in the wee hours of Sunday, police said.
The six dead included four females, a male and an infant while the 54 others were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals, said police inspector Pol Lt Col Sarayuth Saengthong of Khlong Luang police station in central Pathum Thani province.
The tour bus, owned by Prayat Tour Co, was apparently speeding in the rain with 60 passengers onboard before it suddenly veered off and turned upside down into a dry ditch in the middle of Phaholyothin Road, Xinhua reported quoting the police inspector.
The bus departed from Thailand’s Phanom Phrai district of the northeastern Roi Et province, heading to Mor Chit bus terminal in Bangkok.
