Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has taken the oath as a federal minister of Pakistan under the unity government led by Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Chief Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Pakistan President Arif Alvi administered the oath to thirty-three-year-old Bilawal ceremony was held at the presidential palace of the country on Wednesday. Shehbaz Sharif was also present at the oath-taking ceremony, reports Dawn.

Bilawal was first elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in 2018. This is the first time he will be serving as a member of the federal cabinet.

While there was no immediate official confirmation about Bilawal's portfolio, his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari had congratulated him earlier in the day for taking oath as the country's foreign minister.

Earlier this month, Shehbaz Sharif took oath as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan as the leader of a united opposition that removed Imran Khan from the post of prime minister after a no-confidence vote in their national assembly.
