Global Committee on Social Business, Youth and Technology is a global cross-sector and cross-generational partner network to innovate together for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals launched by United Nations. And aims to bring Government leaders, Business leaders, social entrepreneurs, Civil Society Leaders and Young leaders together to apply the methodology of social business, involve the creativity of youth and the power of fast changing technology to commit the youth to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
The inspiration to create Global Committee on Social Business, Youth and Technology is came from a quotation from Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Yunus. In the 71st UN General Assembly in 2016 he said: “We must commit ourselves to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The most dependable way to do it is to apply the methodology of social business, involve the creativity of youth and the power of fast changing positive technology” .
In his address this year Professor Yunus urged the young people to create a new civilization based on empathy and human values. He warned the youth that if we cannot change the present greed-based civilization they may be the last generation on this planet. Socially and environmentally we are on a disaster path. If we continue on this path we'll self-destruct ourselves within this century. We must mobilize ourselves to get away from the disaster path by building a new civilization.
