Md Naimul Hossain Khan

Md Naimul Hossain Khan is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur in the woodworking industry. For the past two decades, he has played a vital role in developing this industry. Starting work in 1999, he trained many people involved in this sector by taking the industry ahead and making it technology-based.

The Wood Tech Solution by Md Naimul Hossain helps solve the craftsmanship problems of wooden furniture and doors making organisations. Designing a factory to increase manufacturing of an organisation, making layout plans for machinery, providing necessary machinery, giving the training to make a capable team, and by providing after-sales services, this company has become a frontliner in the furniture industry.

Naimul has brought ultramodern machinery from around the world. Many factories of the famous furniture companies and brands were pre-cultivated by him. He made the only internationally recognised Bangladesh’s woodworking technology centre in Keraniganj, where people can take the technical training for free.

With his expertise, Md Naimul Hossain is presenting himself in front of the whole world from Bangladesh. He has now a top wooden technology expert. To set up factories, he often gives essential suggestions. Apart from that, he has established his new machine brand called WTS. This is currently the only Bangladeshi industrial machinery brand that is quite famous internationally. This brand’s machines have been registered in Bangladesh and China and are exported to more than 43 countries.

Development in the furniture industry started in 1999. Since then, a foreign NGO started a new project regarding future industry development. They included Md Naimul Hossain. He was working to modernise the face of furniture of many brands such as HATIL, Navana, Partex, Akhtar, Brothers, Nadia, etc. Later, he built a company called ‘Wood Tech Solution’ to give proper woodworking technology solutions. A wide range of quality including training, and even after-sales services are also ensured.

When Bangladeshi furniture industry was going downwards, Naimul formed Wood Tech Solution to take care of situation. At the beginning, Otobi was the only client of Wood Tech Solution. Then eventually, Navana and Partex came to market. The professional setups of these companies was done by Wood Tech Solution. Then slowly, other brands started having an interest in modern factories. Wood Tech helped them all.

The benefits of technology are not up to the mark in the Bangladeshi furniture market yet. It is still at the initial stage. But there is a lot of scope because of the recent 2.5 million employment in this sector in Bangladesh.

Initially, the main challenge was to make any entrepreneur understand the benefits of technology in his business and make him/her agree. They weren’t used to it at that time. But change is coming. That is the good news.

The neglected furniture industry comes right after the garment sector in terms of recruiting inefficient workers to get more benefit. The gross market size of local furniture is about Tk 100 billion.  The good thing is furniture demands are increasing day by day.

In furniture manufacturing, the environment is a matter of concern. Just for the use of dust and chemical substances, the employees work in an unhealthy environment. It's high time to think about them.

In the whole world, Wood Tech Solution is the first one to come up with the WTS Restarting System. It will go to the CNC router machine so that if the electricity gets back, the work will start from previously saved data. The core responsibility of this is to modernise the finishing of furniture and to reduce the cost.

Government help is required for the sake of the financial development of this country because it is directly interconnected. To import raw materials, businessmen have to pay a high duty fee which eventually increases the cost. So, reducing Vat Tax complications and increasing LC benefits are highly needed now.
