Women entrepreneurs will get priority services and other facilities in the office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) from now on.
It has recently created a women-friendly environment to make women entrepreneurs feel more comfortable in visiting their office.
Separate service desk at the RJSC reception will prioritise women clients and visitors. There is also a dedicated washroom and designated seating area for women.
The RJSC has also actively taken some steps to improve the registration process and address the needs of women entrepreneurs as well as women trade organisations, said a statement of Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association (WEND).
WEND, with technical support from USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Trade Activity, recently held a discussion with the RJSC that led to some important developments.
WEND handed over an appreciation award to the RJSC as a women-friendly organisation.
On October 04, WEND President Dr. Nadia Binte Amin along with her executive panel and members joined in handing over the award to RJSC Registrar Sheikh Shoebul Alam.
The WEND said it welcomed these initiatives and shared how this would create a positive impact for women entrepreneurs and strengthen the business scenario of Bangladesh, enabling more women-owned enterprises to scale up and contribute to the national economy.
The RJSC would make a conscious effort to include more women, including those of WEND, in its stakeholders' meetings.
The RJSC officials would also contribute as resource persons in awareness-building workshops - catering to the needs of women SMEs and marginalised businesses to better understand company registration, government laws, and new Digital Business Identification Number (DBIN) rules, it added.
WEND is principally dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs in various business development phases throughout the country as well as internationally, supported by an efficient body of executive committee members with strong business background.
