The government will ensure fair prices of goods after ensuring competition in the market, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said Saturday, according to UNB.
"We need to ensure tough implementation of Bangladesh Competition Commission law and raise awareness to ensure fair prices," he said.
"The government will do everything in this regard," he told a seminar organised by Bangladesh Competition Commission at CIRDAP auditorium.
"Traders will not be allowed to hike prices by illegally storing goods," he said. "The demand and supply must be kept normal."
He said traders will not be allowed to store goods ahead of Ramadan and hike prices. "It is possible to ensure fair prices by creating competition in the market," he added.
