Walton, a leading local brand in the electronics and electrical sector, has received the best electronics stall award in the just concluded month-long 26th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF-2022).
The DITF organisers—Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)—have given the award to Walton for setting up an eye-catching and beautiful stall at this year’s expo.
Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi was present at the concluding ceremony of the fair held at the conference room of Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre at Purbachal on Monday, says a media release.
The minister also handed over the award’s crest to Walton Research and Innovation Centre’s Head Engineer Tapash Kumar Mojumder and Refrigerator's Chief Business Officer (CBO) Engineer Anisur Rahman Mallick at the concluding ceremony.
Walton also received an award certificate from Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s President Md Jashim Uddin, who joined the function as special guests.
Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, EPB Vice-Chairman AHM Ahsan, Walton's Deputy Managing Director Humayun Kabir and Media Adviser Enayet Ferdous were also present among others at the function.
At the DITF, Walton has been secured the best taxpayers award for the last 14 consecutive years, says the release.
“This year, the DITF has been organised in the format of China's Kunming Fair, one of the largest international fairs, said Walton DMD Md. Humayun Kabir.
He said, “Conforming to the international trade fair, this year Walton only showcased its state-of-the-art technologies and innovative featured products.”
The Walton DMD also informed that the company received about USD1.0 million worth of spot orders from foreign buyers at the fair.
In January, Walton registered over $2.30 million export orders, he added.
