Walton eyes 1.8m-fridge sale this year

Walton has set a target of selling 1.8 million pieces of fridges in the local market in the current year. The target is about 27 per cent higher than that in the previous year. 

It says both the demand and the sale of fridges were went up during the last couple of years following the improvement of people’ living standard, increase of per capita income and progress of power generation, according to a press release. 

On an average, about 2.0 to 2.2 million unit of fridges were sold out each year. But, this year the demand for fridges would reach 2.5 million units. To this extent, Walton itself targets to meet 72 per cent of the total demand of fridges of the current year. 

Eva Rezwana, chief marketing coordinator of Walton Group, said, Walton brand fridges have been on top of the choice during the last couple of years. “Every year, we meet around two-thirds of the total annual demand of fridges.” 

Amdadul Haque Sarker, head of marketing of Walton Group, said, they have already increased the production of fridges at the factory in line with the market survey. 

They took advanced marketing strategies and also emphasised the increase of customers’ facilities, he said. 

Considering the taste and purchasing power capacity of all classes of people, Walton is now marketing and manufacturing more than 100 models of fridges of state-of-the art technologies like frost, non-frost, digital display, fiver star energy rated etc.
