A large number of people are thronging at the Leathertech Bangladesh 2018 in Dhaka city on its last day.
Organisers say it is due to the display of latest machinery, components and accessories, which has added a new dimension to the exposition.
The three-day event is scheduled to end at 7:00 pm today (Saturday) with the call to strengthen the overall development of the leather industry in the country.
Over 300 exhibitors from 20 countries are participating in the eighth edition of the exposition organised by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd in association with Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather Goods & Footwear Exporters' Association (BFLLFEA), Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA), Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity (BPPS), and Leather Engineering and Technology Society (LETS), according to a media statement.
Centre of Excellence for Leather Skill Bangladesh Limited (COEL) is the formal strategic partner of the show.
The participants, including CLE and IFCOMA from India, Wenzhou and Jinjiang Association from China and Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) are showcasing a wide array of items such as leather and leather products, international and local technology regarding machinery, components, chemicals, and equipment at the event.
Accessories required for manufacturing footwear are also on display there.
NS Leather Products & Crafts chief executive officer Nazrul Islam, visiting the exposition, told the FE that he came to the fair to experience the latest technology the industry has to offer.
Maximization director Md Salimuzzaman told the FE that it is a golden opportunity for a customer to witness the diversified technology of the leather industry under one roof.
He termed it a massive display of latest machinery, components and accessories in the leather sector.
ASK managing director Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan told the FE that the exposition is receiving a good response from local and international participants and visitors.
A handful of mini-events, like 'buyer-seller meet' to facilitate interaction with the sourcing teams from factories, were also organised on the venue on November 22 and 23.
The exposition also features a number of seminars on the concluding day.
