The trade volume between Bangladesh and Vietnam could reach US$ 2 billion in next two years if the two countries can properly tap into their two-way business potentials, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang has said.
“I think the trade volume between the two countries has the potential to reach $1 billion by this year and $2 billion by 2020”, Mr. Quang, who is now in Dhaka on a two-day visit, said at the Vietnam-Bangladesh Business Forum on Tuesday.
The Vietnamese President observed that Bangladesh - with a population of more than 160 million people - offers a huge market and abundant workforce for the Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
“I think there are immense potentials for Vietnam to invest in Bangladesh’s telecom, ICT, agriculture, textile, gas, and infrastructure sector”, Quang, who is scheduled to leave Dhaka this afternoon, said.
