Bangladesh has earned US $ 81.03 million foreign currency from vegetable export in fiscal 2016-17.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed came up with the revelation while responding to a query in the parliament on Tuesday.
The minister cited the statistics of 2016-17 that mentioned list of different kinds of exported vegetables including potato, aubergine, bean, yard long bean, ladies finger, tomato, carrot and Mushroom.
According to BSS, Bangladesh exported these vegetables to many countries including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Italy, Bahrain, Nepal, Oman, Canada, France, Japan and USA.
