Crisis-ridden e-commerce platforms Boom Boom Shopping and Tholay.com on Thursday started refunding their customers from the money that got stuck with the SSL Payment gateway and Nagad.
Initially, over Tk 0.53 million and over Tk 0.87 million have been disbursed to 10 customers of Boom Boom Shopping and 10 of Tholay.com respectively.
Additional commerce secretary and chief of central digital commerce cell AHM Shafiquzzaman inaugurated the disbursement programme at his secretariat office.
Senior ministry officials and representatives from Bangladesh Bank, e-CAB, law-enforcement agencies, different state agencies and e-commerce platforms attend the function.
Currently, over TK 8.29 million fund of Boom Boom remained blocked with the SSL and Nagad as customers paid the money in advance against the products ordered.
Besides, more than Tk 9.87 million of Tholay has also been with the service providers, according to a central bank document.
E-commerce platforms Qcoom, Alesha Mart and Dalal plus have already started refunding the stuck up funds to their customers.
