Trade activities – mainly import and export will remain suspended for nine days from tomorrow (Friday) through Hili Land Port (HLP) under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur district on the occasion of the Durga Puja festivity.
General Secretary of the Customs, Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association (C and FAA) of HLP Abdur Rahman Liton briefed reporters today that trade activities would remain suspended through the land port from October 12 to 20 next, reports BSS.
“The imports, exports, customs clearance, loading and unloading of the goods will resume again through the land port from October 21 (Sunday) next after the nine-day Durga Puja vacation,” he added.
“Upon receiving a letter from General Secretary of the Indian Exporters’ and Customs Clearing Agents’ Association of HLP Subrata Saha, we decided to keep import-export activities suspended from October 12 to 21 next,” Liton added.
However, Abdus Sabur, Officer-in-Charge of the Immigration Check Post (ICP) at HLP, said movement of the passport-visa holder citizens would remain normal through the ICP during the vacation despite closure of trade activities.
