Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday urged the European Union (EU) to give GSP Plus facility to Bangladesh after 2027.
"We called upon the European Union to provide GSP Plus facility to Bangladesh like Sri Lanka and Pakistan," he told the media at the secretariat in Dhaka after the EU-Bangladesh Business Climate Dialogue.
Bangladesh will only get GSP facility till 2027 as it would fully turn into a developing country by then and become ineligible for the trade facilities of the least developed countries (LDCs).
