Textile Directorate under the Textile and Jute Ministry has been upgraded to Textile department for further development, extension and expansion of the country's textile industries.
To this effect, the public administration ministry has created 83 new posts for the Textile Department including one post for director general and three for directors, says BSS citing a release.
Besides, three new branch offices of the new department will be opened in Narayanganj, Gazipur and Narsingdi districts.
BSS further informs that it is expected that the new department would bring dynamism in activities of the textile sector and create skilled manpower.
