Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is expected to start selling dates from tomorrow (Saturday) under its ongoing open market sale (OMS) move ahead of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, according to a TCB official.
Date, an iftar item for breaking the fast, will be sold at Tk 80 per kg and a consumer can buy a maximum of one kilogram (kg) of such item, he said.
TCB, a state-owned agency, has already started selling key essential items since the beginning of April to keep prices within the buying capacity of the common people ahead of the Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The OMS programme will continue across the country until May 06, said a press release issued by the TCB.
