E-commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) and Office of the Commissioner, Dhaka Division have formally launched 'E-Genius' which is a talent hunt programme for school-goers aiming to enhance their extra-curricular activities amid pandemic.
Participating youngsters will virtually submit their creative content -- drawing, music, storytelling, acting and other performance -- until December 16.
Md Mustafizur Rahman, divisional commissioner of Dhaka division launched the programme at a virtual event on Monday evening as the chief guest, a statement said.
President of e-CAB Shomi Kaiser, educationists, and chiefs of different schools joined the virtual programme.
According to the organisers, interested youngsters will upload creative content through the smartphone application called 'e-Genius' between November 16 and December 16. One thousand participants will get medals and top 20 will be invited to a TV reality show.
They expressed hope that the initiative will help youngsters flourish their talents and overcome boredom due to the suspension of educational activities in the schools for a long period.
Md Mustafizur Rahman said the initiative has been a time-befitting and interesting one since the participants can prove their intelligence, as well as entertain themselves with the content.
Shomi Kaiser said there have been a number of platforms to enhance youngsters' intellectual capacity in recent times, which was very limited several decades ago.
