Tea Market

Strong demand prevails for quality tea

Strong demand prevails for quality tea

A strong demand continued this week for a slightly higher offering. Major Blenders operated strongly particularly for the brighter liquoring types.

Loose tea buyers were very selective and virtually absent, in the tea auction held in Chattagram on Tuesday last, according to a statement of National Tea Brokers.

Dusts sold well.

CTC LEAF: As many as 24,266 packages of Current Season and 1507 packages of Old Season Teas on offer once again met with a stronger demand at dearer rates.

BROKENS: All Brokens were again a strong market and were dearer in line with quality. Medium and plainer types sold at around last levels.

FANNINGS: All Fannings were also a strong market and were dearer by Tk 2.0 to Tk 3.0 and sometimes more for the best liquoring varieties. Medium and plainer types sold at around last levels.

CTC DUST: As many as 5,516 packages of Current Season and 28 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a strong demand.

Good liquouring Dusts were firm to slightly dearer market closely following quality. Others also sold well at around last levels.

Blenders lent strong support with only fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
