As a part of ongoing campaign against tobacco, Stop Tobacco Bangladesh arranged a real-life photo exhibition titled “Tamake Ar Khabe Na Amake”, a “MoiLudu” game and an open discussion session recently at the Rabindra Sharobar Unmukto Moncho in Dhanmondi.
The questions & answer session was hosted by the spokesperson of the Stop Tobacco Bangladesh page, Mr. Sheikh Nasir Uddin, where the former chairman of the National Board of Revenue Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Head of Program of Vital Strategies, Bangladesh Mr. Shafiqul Islam, Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, MP, National Professional Officer of WHO Dr. Syed Mahfuzul Huq, joint secretary of Bangladesh Cancer Society Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Faruque, Professor of the Economics Department of the University of Dhaka Dr. Rumana Huq and Technical Consultant of the Union Advocate Syed Mahbubul Alam Tahin were present.
Speakers talked about direct and passive effects of tobacco, tax hike, enforcement of law and effective policy interventions to end the menace of tobacco.
