The sixth day of National SME Products Fair 2019, a platform for showcasing SME products and enhancing the entrepreneur's networks, saw a huge turnout.
The exhibitors are selling and showcasing their products including jute goods, agriculture, food products, leather products electronic electrical items, plastic items and design and fashion products.
Small & Medium Enterprise Foundation (SME Foundation) is organising the fair which is scheduled to end on Saturday at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital.
Organiser and participants expressed their satisfaction as they received a good response from local and international customers and visitors.
SME Foundation said the entrepreneurs should come up with diversification of products to increase their sales and orders as the people’s taste and preference are changing every day.
S.M. Shaheen Anwar, deputy managing director of the SME Foundation, told the FE that the diversification of products attracted the local and international customers at the fair.
However, sale may drop somewhat this year compared to that of last year but it is sufficient, added he.
The organiser informed that sales and orders stood at Tk 55.60 million and Tk 101.40 million respectively in 2018.
“But the sales is sufficient regardless of the drop of amount this year”, said Anwar.
A total of 280 SME entrepreneurs, consisting of 188 women and 92 men, are showcasing their products at the faire.
The fair is open for all from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
