City Bank has appointed Sheikh Mohammad Maroof as its chief business officer recently.
Prior to assuming new responsibility, Mr Maroof had served the bank as additional managing director, according to a press release.
As chief business officer, he will take charge of the organisation’s businesses including digital financial programmes.
Mr Maroof has more than 27 years of experience in corporate, treasury, SME banking, and green and infrastructure financing. He played significant roles in bringing forth derivative products, developing foreign exchange market, money market, merger and acquisition, advisory services, structured finance transactions and offshore banking business in Bangladesh.
He started his career as a management trainee with the American Express Bank in 1995. He joined the City Bank as executive vice president in 2007 and made significant contributions in transforming the company into a trusted brand.
